I was so excited for Easter morning. Since I was young I've never been able to sleep well the night before Christmas and Easter. And, if anything, it's only gotten worse since having Austin. It's not about the gifts, either. It's about all that comes with these holidays: family, food, love, and the peaceful, joyful feelings that come from reflecting on our Savior.
So I was wide awake at 6 am ready to go. I put a delicious french toast casserole in the oven and then waited patiently for Toren and Austin to wake up. And when they did they were not disappointed. A trail of candy-filled Easter eggs led Austin to his Easter basket filled with bubble bath, color wonder markers and coloring book, and a mini suitcase. He was so happy. Toren got new basketball shorts and I got new Pyrex pans (yay...).
I'd been looking forward to going to church because I had the most handsome outfit for him to wear. My good friend, Kristine, sent me this outfit before Austin was even born. I've been waiting for TWO years for him to wear it. The wait was worth it, don't you think? THANK YOU KRISTINE!!
After church we all took great Easter Sunday naps. When we woke up we headed out to my aunt and uncle's house for a big family dinner. The weather was beautiful. We ate (way too much) while the kids romped around in the backyard. It was the absolutely perfect Easter Sunday.
Having a little baby only deepened my love for the Savior and His Plan of Happiness. Every day I'm grateful for the sacrifice he made on behalf of me and my family, and my knowledge that he lived, lives, and that I can live forever with Him and my family.

Ha! That is so funny! I scrolled down to that photo and thought, "Huh, that's an adorable suit outfit." Then I thought for a minute, "Wait, I recognize that..." And then, "Hey, I think I gave that to Auds! Well good, because boy does he look adorable!" Ha! I have to give myself some credit for a great gift. But also to you for waiting so long!! That is hard when they seem so so small when they are born. He did look handsome and you two looked great as well. So glad you're Easter was wonderful! Miss you.
